In 1911, Mr. J. W. Wilbur was a prominent real estate broker from Boston, Mass. He made a thorough tour of Florida’s east and west coasts in search of a place to call home. He explored the coast from Jacksonville to Key West, finally finding Wilbur-By-The-Sea. He found the spot he wanted, with the ocean and river to his left and 800 feet between them.
